Two months ago, I posted a mill engine that I purchased from a gentleman from Lititz, PA.
I was very pleased with the construction and how well it operated with just the slightest air (about 4 psi.)
There were some changes that I wanted to make. I changed the way the steam (or air), entered the engine and I added a displacer oiler in the likely hood that I would run it on steam eventually
Previously, the exhaust came out of the engine and went nowhere except out and down. I added a condenser to catch the condensate and oil from the exhaust before the exhaust steam goes up the stack, this makes for a cleaner and drier area around the engine.
You can see the operator that I have on the ladder, he adjusts the steam inlet valve. I also added another workman to empty the condenser when it fills up.
I had to keep the ladder and the condenser close and low enough, so I could refit the engine under its beautiful glass case.
I also changed the color of the flywheel from a powder blue color to a deep red.
I love this mill engine even more now, and I will be displaying it at shows.
