Its been over a year since the dresser itself (and then the 2nd matching one) came to live in my house -- heck, the smaller one hasn't even made itself into the bedroom yet -- but the until-now missing mirror from betwixt the arms on the taller piece HAS BEEN FOUND and put back in its proper position, and it came with a happy BONUS -- an original paper label on its back to finally give a clue to the original maker of the whole set??!!! <cheers><applause>

Pic 1 is the 'reunited' pair, after the mirror got a drink of Old English furniture oil and a good cleaning (like the other pcs.) and put in place. Pic 2 is the 'before' as it came out of an otherwise nearly overlooked sheath of elderly cardboard box, pic 3 is the entire backside showing where the label is in the center, and pic 4 is a closeup of the label itself. There's no date or anything, but it clearly identifies the finish color as "No.1 GOLDEN OAK" with the name of UNAGUSTA MANUFACTURING COMPANY and a portrait of CHIEF UNAGUSTA, whoever and wherever he was. No time to research that yet, but it's more than anything I've ever had, anyways...?? <lol>

LOL dav2no1 -- did it conceal your dings and scratches, leaving you with a lovely smooth satiny finish?? ;-) ;-) ;-)

In other news, a little research now shows UNAGUSTA was apparently located near Waynesville, NC but has long since ceased business, being bought out by another furniture company in the late 1960's.
