I do not know anything about this drink or the company that made it . I found the can in an old barn. It is empty, but the pull tap on top is intact. Anybody know anything about this ?

      Hi,
Wanted to repost this can to see if anyone who might not of seen this the first time would have some idea of the background on this can or the company. Just sold one on ebay for 100.+ dollars, so I am thinking there must be some interesting story behind it.

Does it have a Pull Tab or a Pull Ring? People tend to call them all the same thing, but they are different. We can try to narrow down the date that way, which might help a little.

Hi packrat-place, the can actually has a pull ring on it. This was the type of ring that pulled completely off the can. Thanks for the love packrat-place !

The detatchable Pull Ring was first used in 1965, but was only used for 10 years. The Stay Tab was invented in 1975. For people like me that metal detect, the Pull Ring is a nightmare.
At least we can narrow the age down a little.

Thanks for your help packrat-place. I had about three of these so I put one on e-bay.The highest bid finished at 176.00 ! I couldn't believe it ! I have the other two I am holding onto for now. It seems that someone knows something about this company, and it must be pretty interesting. I e-mailed the winner to see if he could give me some informaton, but I never got a response. I have still been looking here and there. Thanks again, packrat-place for your help. Thrifty Gypsy

$176.00! Somebody knows something we don't. Great find! I will keep my eyes open for them now. I will also save your photo and do a little more digging around to see what I can find.

Thanks alot packrat-place for your interest ! I definitely keep my eyes open when I am out looking. Any future information will be greatly appreciated. One thing else I left out, the barn these were in was in a little town called Aberdeen, in North Carolina. Thanks again, T.G.

      Thrifty,
I have done a little digging into this. If I have the same company, they were involved with Coca Cola in 1960 for trademark infringement. Here is what I found:
      TOPP-COLA COMPANY v. COCA-COLA COMPANY
      185 F.Supp. 700 (1960)
      TOPP-COLA COMPANY, a corporation, Plaintiff,v.COCA-COLA COMPANY, a corporation, Defendant.
Plaintiff, a Georgia corporation, with its principal place of business in Savannah, Georgia, is the owner of the trademark Topp-Cola. Defendant, a Delaware corporation, with its principal place of business in New York, is the owner of the trademark Coca-Cola. Both marks are duly registered in the United States Patent Office under the Lanham Act, 15 U.S.C.A. § 1051 et seq. The present suit involving the marks of the respective parties arises primarily out of the following circumstances:
Plaintiff filed an application to register its mark under the Laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico with the Secretary of State of that Commonwealth. Defendant, whose mark is already registered in Puerto Rico, has filed a notice of opposition1 to plaintiff's registration, claiming that plaintiff's mark is so similar to defendant's mark
United States District Court S. D. New York.
      July 25, 1960.
      Interesting stuff, helps a little.

Thanks packrat-place for the great information ! I was never able to run across anything near this informative ! I really appreciate you taking the time to investigate this. I definitely owe you one ! What's really unusual about this is the address I sent the can to was a law firm. There probably was a history buff working there, or maybe even someone that remembered the case ! Thanks so much. Thrifty Gypsy
