I have a Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. Red Wing Minn mug that I have a question about. I haven't been able to find another example with an image search.
From what I've read about the Red Wing history it was known as the Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. from 1913 to 1936. I have my doubts that it actually dates back to that era. The state abbreviation Minn used dates to pre 1963 though. I thought that it might be a reissue, commemorative, etc.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I thought that name sounded familiar, not to mention the general shape of your mug -- Red Wing (at least) was (is) known for making crockery and such items, at least -- a very cool mug no matter how old it is?! :-) :-) :-)

AnythingObscure: Thanks for your response. You see the Red Wing Union Stoneware mark on lots of vintage crocks, but I've never seen a mug with that marking before.

Neither have I -- plus its 'crock shaped' rim makes it a winner in my book?! I'd agree with you that it could easily be a commemorative/promotional piece. Please do share if you end up finding out anything specific about it! :-)
