Her new name is intended to be generally spelled/spoken "Hettie", "Hattie", "Heddie", or "Haddie" depending on regional accents, all of which to my knowledge are still the same basic abbreviation for "Henrietta" -- an otherwise lovely sounding and little bit old-timey elegant ladies name. Also inspired a little by two of my favorite (though very different?!) so named characters on two recent and/or ongoing network TV shows ("NCIS" and "GHOSTS") which, in her own baby way, little Hettie is starting to kinda act like herself, for the same sorts of reasons I like the TV characters...?? <LOL>

All these pics are the first official time Woda and Hettie "met independently", meaning both of 'em on the same bed together (me out of the frame) and more importantly *without* a cage box between 'em. I had to play the 'rattle the kitty treat bag trick' to even get Woda up there where he promptly (as expected) did his disapproving look/sniff/attitude/turn away from/pretend to ignore Hettie, who also looked/sniffed/etc at him from their far enough apart spots to do so, but then just went back to playing with and rolling around in the wrinkles of the blue blanket... :-)

      AnythingObscure,

Congratulations on successfully introducing Hettie to Woda. :-)

It seems like Woda's posture is "ignore the intruder," and that's quite good, considering the worst case alternative.

BTW, two more variations for Henrietta: Enriqueta and Queta.

THANKS to Vynil334pm, hotairfan, fortapache, kwqd, dav2no1, Watchsearcher, vetraio50, BHIFOS, Alfie21, & Blammoammo for your <love it>s! Even more thanks to keramikos for your kind (and seemingly knowledgeable) comment -- sorta sounds like you might have also raised a kitty or two sometime -- but most importantly here, Woda's 'ignore' attitude has indeed changed to something closer to 'baby daddy'. :-) Hettie doesn't need the cage anymore already, she and Woda (and Lucy when she's inside) run and play and eat and sleep and otherwise just do what house-critters are supposed to do...which is the reason we humans adopt 'em in the first place, isn't it...?? :-) :-) :-)
