Just picked up this bad boy today. It is the Ultimate Soldier Extreme Detail F-104G Starfighter in 1/18 scale. This is another big one, there is a ruler in photo #1. I think it is about 30" long. This version is the type used by the West German air force. They were a major user of the plane. This was my favorite plane back when I was a kid.
The real plane was built from 1958 to 1980. It is a fighter but not designed for dogfighting. Those stubby wings weren't good for a tight turn. Instead it will swoop in and zoom out. It was quite fast and you would not catch it. It was in use until the early 2000s. I didn't get a photo but the main armament is a 20mm Vulcan rotary cannon. It is inside the plane and all that is visible is a grove on the left side under the cockpit.
