Recent posts of old typewriters by other CW members got me feeling lonesome for my beloved college-days treasure, a “Sterling Electric 12” Smith Corona portable typewriter.

It’s been moved around with me since the 1970s and got its last serious use in 1976 or 77.

When I unzipped the typewriter carrying case today, I came across this barely used little plastic case of correction papers.
    It measures 3”X 4”X 0.5”.

Ko-Rec-Type “Typewriter Opaquing Film” was made by the Ko-Rec-Type Company of Brooklyn NY, 1976

My $3 package of the films corrects in white, but the also could be purchased in “9 lively colors”.

In looking over the package insert, I see I missed out on accumulating and mailing in certificates which would have entitled me to select a gift from the company.

Since the package states I can expect to make 8,500 corrections per packet, I doubt I would have ever in my lifetime needed to buy another package and, thus, acquired another certificate.

Who knows now what the gifts were and how many certificates would have been required?
But, alas, the promotion ended in 1988 anyway so I won’t dwell on it now.

Thanks for taking a look! Comments welcomed.

Watchsearcher, something i always thought of ,
I think the manufacturers missed their opportunity
when they called it correction ribbon
      instead of “ TypeRighter”
      Right the wrongs you Wright
