I have inherited a bunch of brooches from my mom. Some where hers some my grammas and some my great grammas .. this one in the pic is the most beautiful brooch I have ever seen.. this one has the sherman stamp and I feel it is a real one, it is just amzzing quality. I remember when my mom bought it but am not sure if it is new or she bought it at a antique store. Any info is appreciated.

Hi! Gorgeous item. Do you have a photo of the back of the brooch.

1960's design, nice colour. Beautiful and desirable. Sherman seems to not have left any info about his company as he was not a person to brag or share his wonderful secrets !~

PhilDMorris, thank you...I really love it... is there somewhere I can find out how it is worth? I won't be selling, but would like to know...

Hi PinkOreoGirl, I'm like you -- I got the "Sherman bug" after I inherited a lovely rhinestone Sherman brooch from my mother and became curious to learn about it! So I understand where you're coming from.
In terms of learning more... you can search Facebook for "Sherman jewellery" and apply to join the couple of groups that exist. I don't think anyone there will be able to give you a fixed price, but you'll see other examples of Sherman brooches and perhaps get a better sense of relative value. You'll also get a greater appreciation of the artistry that Gustave Sherman was capable of.
The difficulty with assigning a "worth" to any piece of costume jewellery is whether the seller will find a buyer for it. If you look at Sherman pieces on eBay, Etsy, etc., you'll get a sense of possible price ranges, but similar pieces can vary quite wildly in asking price, depending on the seller and the platform. Should you wish to assign a value to your piece more firmly, your best bet is to find a piece of identical design and colour (not an easy task).
Hopefully someone will step in now if they think I've misspoken, but that's honestly my best suggestion, speaking as someone who is still very much an amateur collector!
That said, your brooch is, as Phil said, "desirable", both for its delicate design (those beautifully slender navettes!) and the colour (it's hard to tell from the cast of the photos, but I think it's peach-pink?). So it would likely be in higher demand than an equivalent piece made purely of clear rhinestones. Pink and red are always popular colours with Sherman collectors. You can feel happy that the piece you have really is a special one!
P.S. It's generally thought that the rectangular cartouche visible in your 4th photo dates from the 1960s, and that the oval cartouche generally predates it (1950s). I think that's why Phil assigned your piece to the sixties.

Beautiful Brooch by Sherman. You have received all the best information above. This is the same style as my first Sherman Brooch with Earrings that was my grandmothers. It was purchased for her from a small jewelry shop in a small Manitoba town. Mine is greens. One of my most prized pieces due to the fact it was my grandmothers. Love yours in Pinks.
