This was a super win on eBay AU last weekend! It had attracted a fair few bidders but I was lucky to score it with a last second bid for a very reasonable price. Feel free to let me know if you too have bid on something at the dinner table like I did with this one...I discreetly hid my phone under the salad bowl & thus was not caught in the act, LOL.
It measures around 17 cm tall, 10 cm across the top rim, & 12 cm across the base, & is made from a single layer of dark purple glass with an iridescent finish & applied veined decoration. Has an unmarked silver plate lid & handle.
Pretty sure this is of Bohemian origin & by Kralik - last photo shows it with a vase in a similar decor.
Only the tastiest of biscuits will meet expectations when one is removed from this beautiful biscuit barrel!
And kudos for hiding the phone at the dinner table. ;^)
