This 2 1-2"L goldtone brooch is of an exotic looking black cat with filigreed V collar and mysterious golden eyes, who I think would be great for Halloween wear. By the American Jewelry Chain Co with their AJC copyright logo ca 1970s

Very Egyptian looking actually, yknow those sleek black and gold cat statues? I have a deep love of all things feline and Egyptian so she's definitely my favourite of your uploads this week!
She makes me think some special kitty got this as their funerary mask in ancient Egypt. (Sorry for going all morbid there....) :)
I agree with the Egyptian look and a very posh filigree collar !~

Searching thank you so much for your terrific compliments for this black kitty, the eyes are really mesmerizing, the shape & yellow-gold color is almost like a real cat's and the photos don't do them justice - they are equally bright and balanced but mirror the surroundings & shadow of my tablet so picture taking was rather challenging. It is truly eye catching with the shiny black enamel as well, nicely done by AJC who did alot of figurals but usually with tiny rhinestone accents, so this was a happy accidental Halloween find for me
Thanks Lauren for your fantastic comment and don't you know, when I saw this cat I immediately thought of you and your incredible Egyptian black cat statues they are SO cool & beautiful. This cat face looks very Egyptian I totally agree & yes it has mask-like qualities so not morbid I absolutely get it (around this time of year I watch many old Hammer horror films on dvd, to me they're interesting not creepy, esp Christopher Lee's non-Dracula parts like in Horror Hotel/City of the Dead and Devil Rides Out). Because I will be busy this Halloween I wanted to post something relevant & glad you enjoyed it!
