I don't often buy what I think are export ware Japanese pieces when I am in op shops but this one appealed because of the graphic.
I haven't seen dogs featured like this before, and I also really like the moriage plum blossoms.
It's not the best painting but different enough for me to buy and keep.
I think the mark is Kutani of some sort but I'm not fussed anyway.
    I just like it.

Gorgeous serene plate, the dogs are beautifully formed, and the blossoms & flowering tree give it a Springtime feeling to me

At first glance, I thought it shows 1 dog and 2 sheep….but if 3 dogs, I’m good with that too. It’s really so peaceful and beautiful.

Really liked the NEWFLD use of Serene. I can’t work out whether there are three or for dogs …. but they seem to have drunk the cool-ade. It’s so modern in its depiction of the dogs … like Manga.

Searching, you know I did procrastinate in the shop, I just have so much stuff here, but I am so pleased now I did.
Here at home it fits in.
Thanks for your comment and love

Watchsearcher I couldn't decide either if the white animal was a dog or sheep but I have decided dog. Japan really has very few sheep, they are not farmed there much at all, and it just seems incongruous.
I guess they may have tried a bit of Euro style with the scene but the rest is so very Japanese.
      Great observation, and thanks.

      Serene it is, Kevin.
I like your Manga comment. The scene is very different to the norm which is why I picked it up.
Yeah, I missed out on Wenty too.

      Thanks Ms Share!
It's so sweet, and different, and Mt Fuji looks over them all.
