HELLO EVERYONE...A GIBSON SIX STRING ELECTRIC GUITAR WITH A BEAUTIFUL HUE OF BLUE.
THE DESIGN IS A OFFSHOOT DESIGN OF THE CLASSIC FLYING V DESIGN FIRST INTRODUCED BY THE GIBSON GUITAR COMPANY IN 1958, YET, THEY WERE DORMANT AT FIRST, TUCKED AWAY IN THE BACK OF MUSIC STORES. THEN ONE DAY, IN 1965, RAY DAVIES OF THE GROUP THE KINKS, HAS HIS GUITAR COME UP MISSING WHILE ON TOUR. HE STROLLS INTO A MUSIC STORE IN SEARCH OF A QUICK REPLACEMENT. IN THE BACK OF THE STORE, HE DISCOVERS ONE OF THOSE DORMANT FLYING V GUITARS AND INSTANTLY FALLS IN LOVE WITH IT..THE REST IS GUITAR HISTORY.
THIS GUITAR WAS A GIFT FROM MY COUSIN, PATRICK HOOD, DRUMMER FOR THE GROUP DRIVE BY TRUCKERS.
THANK YOU,
T.
Way cool guitar T, beautiful color
Nice ,,, but it seems like he would’ve given
you a drum set :~)
Cisum, Cool. :-)
Apparently, it was actually Dave Davies whose guitar was lost on tour, causing him to go on a impromtu, desperate search for a replacement, resulting in him finding a Gibson Flying V languishing on a high shelf in a music store. It also resulted in Dave Davies popularizing the model.
Here's Dave performing on his Gibson Flying V (per other sources, the image is from Top of the Pops):

Dave Davies is one of the Flying V’s most infamous proponents - namely for his habit of playing the guitar in between its wings
Purchased on tour in June 1965, the guitar was used to record Till The End Of The Day and played by Davies on TV show Shindig - he owned the guitar until 1992.
