As I recall, this wrought iron, hinged candle holder is about 30" high. It appears to have been hand made in India. This is basically a house fire waiting to happen, but for $2 I decided that I love it. I later found an old auction for one of these in which the seller claimed to have paid $89 for his/hers new ten years before.
Each section hinges and it can be configured in a number of ways. I may just use it as an accent piece. If I do decide to use it, I will make a base for it with a with a few options for configuring it, so it cannot be tipped over and to keep wax from getting on whatever it sits on. This probably was a World Market or Pier1 item some years ago. Just a guess.
I wonder if it could be made slightly safer (without killing the original look too much) if the addition of small glass shades (or candle cups, but for the spikes that'd get in the way) could be attached to it. (like ceiling fan shades for instance, but they'd need to be lightweight to make it even more of a tipover housefire hazard??)
Thanks for the thoughts, AnythingObscure! I will have to cogitate on that and more before I decide what to do. I am going to make a studio apartment in the basement of my new house for summer living and the floors are painted concrete, right now, so I may just put down another layer of paint and use area rugs in the rest, so maybe I could just leave it as is and only use it against one of the walls, which are cinder block, where I am going to have painted concrete flooring. No fire hazard and I could just scrape up any wax drips.... I will probably not finish out the walls, just leave them as cinder blocks.

Being the plant lover that I am, I would repurpose this as a plant stand….for some very special plants.
Are you familiar with a method of planting called Kokedama?
Orchids are especially pretty planted using that technique of, instead of a pot, the root system grows inside a moss-covered ball.
If you put a Kokedama orchid on each candle receptacle, when they bloomed you would have long arching stems covered with orchid blossoms…..I can just see it now! Lovely.
Thanks for the suggestions Watchsearcher. Having cats, I have given up having live plants or dried flowers in my house. Too often they are either poisonous or targets for tipping over by my cats. I do have some philodendrons in hanging planters, but that is all.

kwqd, I understand about the cats….I have 2 who don’t even know there’s another room in this house. I have to keep that room’s door closed to keep them from shredding my orchid’s aerial roots and long flower stalks.
The lengths humans go to just to accommodate our cats! :^)
LOL. I have a room like that, Watchsearcher. It is my office and storeroom. My cat Molly slipped in there one day as I was going in or coming out and I did not see her. She was quite a shy kitty and was in there for three days before I finally saw her. I thought she had gotten out of the house and after a day of missing her, I printed posters and walked an area of about four square miles putting up posters, handing out my personal card and talking to people. Finally on the third day, I opened my office door, and saw her little head peeking out of a pile of storage items and she silent "meowed" at me. I had spent hours every day in that room on my computer but she was too timid to come out or make a noise. She aged me quite a bit over those three days, around 2015 or 2016, I think. She passed on December 29, 2021 after living with me since 2009. She was a rescue as a kitten with her feral mom and brother and sisters.
