These three plates were recent arrivals and I have added them to my collection of other Multi Glass cameo plates. It seems that Multi had a series of these that started when one of their cameo plates won an award in a European glass competition (I can't remember which) in the late 50s.
The plates are a very regular 35 cm and this series, as you can see, is for flowers. These three are iris, orchid, and roses, and my others are tiger lilies and chrysanthemum.
Made from multiple layers of glass and sand blasted to different levels to make the image, they are beautifully executed.
I don't see these plates very often. They date to the 60s.

      Thanks Kevin.
I don't think these were really exported but they still pop up very occasionally.

      Thanks Jenni and Lauren.
I agree with you both about the iris one, it is so appealing.
      Thanks for the love!

What a delight, five gorgeous pieces of cameo glass. My favourite has to be the owl, though he does look in need of a deportment lesson! Oddly I've never even seen an example of cameo glass for sale.

Thank you Sylvia, they are good glass, and 'que maravilla' sounds wonderful!

The owl remains my favourite too Peggy, she is such a character.
Japanese glassmakers readily adopted cameo glass techniques and typically put their own spin to it.
I don't see cameo glass around much either I have to say.
