    Hello everyone!!
I've had this cast iron rabbit for a while and finally got around to painting him this past weekend. I've always thought he resembled an old professor. He was cast at a foundry in England and I must say he was very well cast. When a piece is cast with such a smooth surface, and every little detail stands out, you know it's definitely a quality cast. He is signed by the foundry on the bottom hem of his coat with "Mc". This one is not old, but very collectible. I really enjoy painting these anthropomorphic animals and this is possibly my favorite. This one measures 11 1/2" tall and weighs 5 1/2lbs.

Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!!
    Scott

an excelent sculpture. Do you know the joke about professor parrots?
"A man goes into a pet shop to buy a parrot. The shop owner points to three identical looking parrots on a perch and says: The parrot on the left costs 500 dollars.
"Why does the parrot cost so much?" asks the man. The owner says, Well, the parrot knows how to use a computer.

The man then asks about the next parrot and is told that this one costs 1,000 dollars because it can do everything the other parrot can do plus it knows how to use the UNIX operating system. The increasingly startled man asks about the third parrot, to be told that it costs 2,000 dollars. So he asks, "And what can this one do?"
To which the owner replies, To be honest I have never seen it do a damn thing, but the other two call him professor!"
This joke was told to me by a dear professor...Camilo Dagum...https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camilo_Dagum
I expect not to anoy you with this....

jscott0363, I’m curious how you display your vast collection of animals. Do you have shelves in a room dedicated to them or are they arranged in vignettes around your house? Either way, your home must feel very animated!

      string-of-pearls,
Thanks so very much!! We have a few of the foxes, rabbits and dogs sitting around the house. But, a majority are stored away in a climate controlled storge facility. We have a lot of horse and hunt scene related decor in our great room, so the foxes and horses seem to work well with al of that.

His snow white cottontail sticking out of the "tails" of his beautiful cobalt blue coat was the first thing I noticed. Great colors Scott!

      Eileen,
Thanks very much!! I sometimes have these pieces sitting in my shop for months before I finally decide on their colors. Typically, the color choices most always come to me all at once. The fun part is bringing them to life:)
