Just got this from a local auction for about 35 bucks, it's in great shape but I frankly don't know much about it and can't find a guide on how to identify it more than saying it's a humpback

Welcome to CW. Check the locks for patent dates.

Looked all over and there was no insignia or stamp anywhere. Locks are gone, all that remains are the keyhole and cover

Only sort of markings I see on the latches are 2 small cross-shaped holes on the bottom part and the number 3 on the top part. I'm thinking this is likely nothing special as there is no name tied to it anywhere so just some sort of generic production. Was planning on adding a new cedar lining to the interior but wasn't sure if it would devalue it in case it had some sort of value as an antique.
