Over the last couple of weeks, I've been getting a "vibe" that I'd find a piece of Tango glass at my local Salvos, this is despite the fact that following it's relocation, the shop isn't quite what it used to be. Though, to be fair, I have been picking up a few finds there from time to time.
So, I asked the universe for Tango glass, thought about it hard, pictured it there on the shelves, & when I dropped by yesterday, waiting for me on the shelf of red items (yes, they've gone colour coded...I don't mind it, actually, even if most of the stuff on offer is plastic tat) was this cool piece of Tango glass, which cost me a humble $6.
Paid in full! Thanks, universe! :-)
Anyway, it is made from intensely red glass with applied black handles & coil, as well as a black crest on the star - shaped crimped top rim.
It measures 18 cm tall, 8.5 cm across the top rim, & 6 cm across the base.
In great condition for its age. In the fourth photo it is shown with a similar vase in orange & cobalt blue which has been in my collection for about 30 years. Happy for it to have a sibling at last.
Czech origin, circa 1920s.
Maybe Welz?
The Power of Thought and Good Thoughts. Nice !!!!
Many thanks, Kevin!
