Was bought this weekend at a Estate Sale, less than $10.00, Just liked the way the face looked, does anyone have any info on a doll like this, before I give it to my daughters to play with? Back of neck Simon and Halbic Made in Germany.
    Thanks

I have never heard of Simon and Halbic & Simon and Halbig only made dolls under that name until 192o and they were bisque. What I have found is some auctions with misspellings, and one site the produced reproductions under that name. Clearly she is not even a Halbig mold and looks to be no older than maybe 10 years old? She is a newer knock off name doll looks like.

Definitely not a Simon and Halbig doll. Wrong features, wrong hair, wrong date.
The hair and overall face reminds me so much of Annette Himstedt dolls. But that's not it either. Annette's dolls' eyes are farther apart.
A knock off for sure, but a very good one.

If you decide to give her to your daughter, tell her she is special.
And if you look for shoes for her, that gap between toes makes me think she wore flip flops when she had her original clothes

Could she be a My Twinn doll? Those are dolls made to look like you. When I look at your doll that is what comes to my mind because of the hair style and doesn't seem to have been played with much. (had one made for my mother of when she was a young girl)

I'm sure Himstedt is what they were aiming for, while word play on Halbig. There is a guy around here that sells knock offs like this, I'm thinking they go for around $70. As much as they aspire to Himstedt the quality isn't the same, and go no where near their prices. The My Twin dolls I'm sure are marked appropriately.

Someone able to make a doll like this shouldn't need to use any other's name...but I guess there are losers everywhere...*sigh*
Like I said, a beautiful doll, to be played with and loved dearly, and carefully.

People do it all the time. I wonder if it was even made in Germany! I could see a name like Simon Howbig, but to use a well known name like that, gesh. Still she is better to be played with then a Himstedt with prices from $500- the sky, that are made just for collectors.

      Too true...on all counts...lol
