Just restored this Stanley Rule & Level Co. No. 21 Adjustable Try and Mitre Square with 9-inch slotted blade, that bears the V (or “Victory”) trademark from 1912-1918. The blade was given a 10-hour electrolysis bath while the head was gently scrubbed with a nylon brush and Dawn soap, and the three faces rubbed down with 4/0 steel wool. My understanding is that this early square head precedes the invention and inclusion of a spirit level and scriber.
