This is a rare 1937 Marconi console radio I have only seen one other photo of this model radio.
It is a top of the line radio for Marconi with 13 tubes as most other consoles are in the 8 to 10 tube range.
The radio was in bad shape when got it, but after getting the chassis recapped it plays very good.
The cabinet was pretty straightforward in stripping and using toned lacquer in the popper spots [along the bottom areas.
The radio is VERY heavy but built very solid as all Canadian radios are.
I had the get a wood turner to make me a new knob ,but the rest are original.
The tuning eye was burnt out so I installed anew one.
It looks like I am the only one who is putting radios on this site.
