    This is a gorgeous copper seahorse letter opener. It's heavy and detailed on both sides with lovely patina. We found it in our (born 1904) great aunts fathers antique desk. There is no makers mark and we would love to know its history.

      I love seahorses.

      My first inclination would be Carl Schon. The firm is well known for its seahorse designs in the 1940s. Most of what I have seen from Schon is sterling-- I am not sure if they worked in copper (or bronze?) as well.
