I am thinking the sixties because of the way they are packaged, I don't think they used styrofoam packaging in the forties. Still great that they survived. How many years did your uncle put in the military?

my uncle retired out of the navy. i only get the information from my mother. she said he got them during the war. thats all i know. have asked her several times. she says same thing. uncle roy is now passed so cant ask him. sure wish i could. thank you for your comment.

just found where polystyrene was discovered in the 1800s. it has been in use every since. i am not set in stone on my tubes. they sure are hard enough to timeline. i guess the old mr boston records have burnt up. i cant get any info from naval museums either.

I have one of these tubes it is the one with whiskey in it. Mine has a wisconsin liquor label on it and it don't have the navy tag on it. I took it to an appraiser and he said it was from the 1920s and it was worth 200+
