    i was given this as a family heirloom but do not know alot about it,,by tracing the serial number its dated about 1904 and is marked on the inside awwco and 14k does this mean that its gold or gold plated,it needs a cleaning as the watch will run for awhile on its own and then stop,,any advise would be great

      Hopefully your friend genuinely thought it wasn't gold... 14K gold isn't the best stuff to sell for weight (scrap) but it would still be worth at least $1,000, just as Kevin said. Very nice pocket watch you have!
