Found this item at a flea market....paid 1.00. I thought that it was definitely a neat compass. The housing appears to be made out of brass, and the lens is glass. There is a button on top like a watch that opens the back to remove the compass. It does not appear to have had a front cover on it. There are no markings of any kind on it. I am wondering if anyone has seen one of these before. I would like to know the date if possible. Also, it has a gold colored arm that locks in place. I cannot recall seeing one like this before. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking, Thrifty Gypsy

Taylor made compasses for many years-- I have seen WW1 era versions and they are well known for their WW2 era wrist compasses.

This particular model looks like it was made for civilian use.

The watch case would make me think early-- 1920s; however, the quality of the dial has me thinking later. It could be from about 1920- 1950s, but I would lean toward the later years.
