    Good Morning Everybody,
I ran across this item cleaning up and had not seen it in years. Purchased it a antique store for five dollars. I have never seen a glass snuff jar before, or since I purchased it. The name of the company was Helme, Quality Snuff and it was on the metal lid. I could not find any markings on the jar itself. Not being able to find any information on this, I am wondering if the lid and jar do not go together. Wondering if someone might have had a lid and stuck it on a glass. The inside of the jar has a hazy brownish tint on it, which half way makes me think it was for snuff. It was definitly not your regular snuff can. Hoping someone on here can help me out ! Also, sorry about the photo quality, I was using my back up camera, which is not as good as my primary. Thanks for looking, Thrifty gypsy.

Thanks toolate2, that definitely answers my question....but you are right, it could have passed for a jelly jar ! Thanks for the love and solving my mystery !

Thanks AR8Jason for the information. It sounds like it was a competitor for the jelly jar ! I think I would prefer the jelly jar. I appreciate you taking the time to enlighten me on this, I knew if anyone would know it would be you. I thank you for your time, hopefully I can repay you sometime. You are definitely an asset to all of us here on Collectors Weekly. Thrifty Gypsy

Thanks for the love AR8Jason ! My drinking glass is definitely larger than that. I am more of a sweet tea kind of guy. It must be a Southern thing. T.G.

That's a pretty funny sweet tea story. I have spent quite a bit of time in Texas the last year on company business and it surprised me that some places had sweet tea and others did not ! You are right about Dr. Pepper, it is definitely big in Texas. I ran across alot of Dr. items while "picking" during my free time. I will post a photo of a older bottle Dr. bottle I found later on. I am curious to see if you have one like it. Thanks for stopping by, Thrifty Gypsy

I found one of these as well! It must not be a jelly jar lol! Same lid and jar.

I have an entire box of these, at least 50. Most even have the price tag. My great grandmother was a snuff user and my father lived with her and saved them all.
