Here is a fun item I found in a box of 78 rpm records I bought at an estate sale several weeks ago.
It is kind of hard to read, here is what it says:
side A: DEMONSTRATION and INSTRUCTION on DUCK CALLING
as done at: 1. Bean Lake, Mo. 2. Fontana, Kansas, 3. Reelfoot Lake, Tenn, 4. Stuttgart, Arkansas.
MISSOURI STATE DUCK CALLING CHAMPION (1950-51-53)
side B: DEMONSTRATION and INSTRUCTION GOOSE CALLING and CROW CALLING
Goose calling by MISSOURI STATE DUCK CALLING CHAMPION (1950-51-53)
Crow calling by OSCAR QUAM, Minneapolis, Minn.
Sold only by Sears Roebuck & Company
Sears stopped using the J.C. Higgins name in 1961.
The brand name, J. C. Higgins, was based on a real person, John Higgins who was a Sears employee.
