This radio belonged to a good friend and became mine after his passing. He and I are the only owners. This was in the mid '70's in northern Virginia.

It has been a prized possesion of mine for all of these years. I've moved it around with us all over the country. During that time the speaker and the "wavetrap" have been lost. I'm getting too old to continue packing it around and now must sell it. Just don't know what the value is or where to start.

Can anyone tell me aprox. what the year this was made and it's value?

Note: a very nice fellow just gave me some much needed help with the model # and value.

Thank you very much for your help!

wildman, your Zenith console radio - Model 10S464, chassis #1005 - was made in 1940/41. In the shape its in, I'd think it would fetch $200-400.

My friend just passed away and his wife has a model 10S464 c#1005 ser# 00711.
It is working like the day it was bought by my friends parents on their wedding day
in the early 40's. There is a lot of paper history avail with this unit from restoration
and everything they have done to this unit over the yrs. Wood is perfect and
shines with no scars or marks. Fabric is perfect, all lights work as does the radio.
I heard it and tuned it (I am an X radioman USNavy for 20 yrs) LOL.
Can you give us any idea what this thing would be worth? Ball park idea
      anyway?.. Thanks...

Does anyone know where I can get information on the tuning mechanism for this radio. I know part of the mechanism uses a belt but it looks like it also uses dial cord and I need stringing instructions and a diagram if possible. I have been a ham for 55 years and re-strung many dials but never one like this! Thanks.
