I inherited this phone from my grand father some years ago.
It was manufactured by; American Electric Company, Chicago, Ill.
I am tiring to determine the year it was manufactured, there is no date on it, also there is a plaque missing from the top portion of the back board.
The phone is in great shape, and it looks as if it is all there.
Any ideals?

identical to the one i have posted - look on back of the mouth piece and you will find a date prob around the same year as mine 1901

BTW does anyone know what this phone would be worth?
Chris, Your oak wall telephone is a 1908 Stromberg-Carlson Telephone Mfg. Co. of Rochester, New York. Your S/C transmitter face plate has been replaced with a American Electric transmitter. The value of a single box wall phone has come down over the past couple of years. At one time you could get $350.00 now days maybe $125.00 to $200.00.
