The signature on this piece dates it to a time (1880-1893) in which Moser did not have its own glassworks, and thus had to acquire blanks from other companies, such as Harrach, Josephinenhutte, and others.

There is remarkable control needed to produce the gradual change in shade of the glass from the yellow-green bottom to the pink-orange near the rim (it is rather like translucent burmese glass). Applied amber glass feet, "M" crimped rim and applied enameled elements add interest. Then, there's the bright green glow under black light, which is one of the small details that brings me what is probably an inordinate amount of satisfaction; but I suppose in some ways I will always be a geek, so what can I say?
