This was a gift to my Great-Grandparents in 1911 when my Grandmother was born. It has been in family photos forever and currently hangs in my lake house. I tried to do an online appraisal a year or so ago but the lady said I needed to find the Tiffany mark which is impossible since it's hanging. From the photo she told me to insure it for $25,000 which I did but I am wondering what in the heck is the best way to know for sure? I don't want to sell this I just want to know the value. It's lead glass or some such I believe...

Lundy, help me out here, does it match exactly? If so, is yours a Tiffany?

Lundy, I sent the photo to Arlie Sulka, the leader in all things Tiffany and she says this is not a Tiffany and that she doesn't recognize the pattern. It was probably made during the same time frame but not by Tiffany. I love it and here's hoping it will be with my Great Grandkids in another 101 years...thanks, though!

Hello KenH, this may be made by the Chicago Mosaic aka The Mosaic Shade Co. Go to to see one similar. I would put an auction value on yours of about $400.00-$600.00 depending on condition. Retail, add $500.00. Hope that helps.

JoHannB...Thanks so much! That is the exact I have to decide whether to tell my 80 year old mom it's not a Tiffany. I think some things are best kept to yourself...
