Recently purchased this paper weight but seller could not give me any information except to say it was Bohemian. Does anyone one have any idea how old it might be or country of origin.

Thanks for the info Dean. I couldn't resist it when I saw it. I gifted this piece to friends on their 40th Wedding Anniversary over the weekend. They loved it too. I'll share your information with them.

I have the same exact piece that my Aunt gave me after her travels in Europe. She had the same exact one in blue. I've always been curious about it, I have the red one just like yours. Did you find out any information about it? I would love to know more.
      Thanks

I was told it was blown glass, red over clear and then the red is cut away to reveal the clear underneath. Produced in either Poland or Czechoslovakia but no time period. Perhaps you can learn what time period you Aunt traveled in Europe to give you an approximate date. Perhaps this was a common item sold to tourists. I expect folks from the UK Roadshow would wink and nod and say, 'Oh yes, we see dozens of these at every Roadshow'. :D

Thanks for your reply. I'm pretty sure she picked it up in Czechoslovakia and I think in the mid 70's. Not sure and she is in her 90's now and her memory is shot. It's sentimental to me but i'm still curious how much they are worth.
      Thanks.
