This was in my father's collection - he passed away in 1975. Can anyone tell me a value? I have no clue if is is worth anything. I do know that there were several civil war battles within 30 miles of our home place.

I'm not a Civil War collector, but it looks like a ground dug North Carolina officers belt buckle.

Confederate belt plates are heavily reproduced.

I suggest that you take it to a Civil War show and get it evaluated there.

The difference between a repro and a real one is several thousand dollars.
