    We have had this lamp since the 1960's. It is beautiful and we love it, but we don't really know much about it. Can't find any markings or signature on the shade itself, but the metal frame on the top of the shade has "HANDEL" Pat'd NO 979664 on it. Would love to know what it is worth!

      They stopped operation in 1936. above link tells a little about them. Will keep looking.

      Here's more background history of the Handel company which you may find helpful, and interesting if you're inclined to research more about this specific lamp;

      I can't believe that I finally found a marking on the shade itself. I had to use a flashlight. It says .........Handel 6625 That info has helped me identify it, but I still can't get an idea of what it's worth.

      I found this, but, it seems to be a little different than yours.

      I did some more research. Are there any signatures or markings on the lamp shade itself? according to other similar lamps it would be on the underside along the edge of the shade. according to the site, it should be Handel #6534. I am a member of worrthpoint.com, and i found a lamp there with the same shade, different style base which sold for $6,037.50 usd via auction. I'm told that the worth largely depends on the shade, rarity, and condition. Not the base so much. This particular shade is from approx 1917. Here's a photo for comparison. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v247/nyteangelx/Antiques/HandelCA1917.png

      Thanks autumnfae82. I did find a marking this morning on the shade. It was really hard to find, but it says Handel 6625, so I am making progress. I also was told by others that the base is not as important as the shade.

      The base may be rarer than most though because i can't locate information on that specific one anywhere yet. On a side note, American pickers rocks :)

      A little late, but http://www.oldlampvalues.com might be able to give you an idea of what it's worth. My cousin used them to find out about her Parpoint lamp. It's such a nice lamp!

      Thanks so much! I will check that link. I'm still trying to figure out the value. Ppl tell me that lamps are really down in price right now - like everything else - so I might wait to try to sell it, but I have learned a lot about it. Thank for your help.
