Not sure where exactly I found this old fruitcake tin, but I love it dearly. The color scheme and textured detailing totally copies Wedgwood's Jasperware line.

The Ward Baking Company imprint is on the underside of the lid, which is decorated with a bird of paradise, hence the name Paradise Fruitcake. The outside of the container shows Greek-inspired figures, fountains, and trees.

This little beauty now houses my sewing supplies. Anyone know details about the Ward Baking Co.?

I can't tell you anything about your tin but I just wanted to say Thank You.

It reminds me of one that my grandmother had that she kept her buttons in. I haven't seen one of them for a very long time.

      Memories...can't beat them sometimes.

Thanks Cassie & Pops for the comments - looks like Ward was founded in 1849, changed to Continental Baking Co. in 1925, was the largest baking company in the U.S. for a while, and eventually released Wonder Bread and Hostess Twinkies. Had no idea!

      Thanks bratjdd for the love!
