This sweet little crazy quilt piece has me slightly puzzled. It was given to me by the daughter of the child who made it (she was in her 90s over 30 years ago, when I received it). I've identified the initials- my friend's mother was Cora D. (maiden name unknown), so the initials match. But just not sure exactly what it was. A doll coverlet? A doily? A wall hanging? I know, it's not much of a mystery, but it's always fun to speculate. I love the wonderful embroidery, and the pretty lace edge. Some of the fabrics have disintegrated, but most of it's in pretty good shape considering it was made in 1885. It's about 12" square.

By the way, this was owned by the same little girl who owned this lovely doll dresser I posted a few weeks ago: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/46803-my-antique-doll-dresser?in=user
