Do you think this is a snuff box or a match box or other ?..I think its pewter ! Any Help would be great ! Age of it ? Thanks EdW.

Two little things that might be of use. Firstly Snuff boxes were made to be air tight. So they close very well and still present after all these years with a snug closure. They hinges are also very well made. The second point is that vesta cases were made with a small area on the outside on which to strike the match. So if it is a match safe then if you scout the outside you will find an area that has been cross hatched or scored so that it is rough enough to ignite a match.
