This nice little “Cadillac” slag/agate glass desk clock was manufactured by the Vidrio Products Corporation of Chicago, Ill., between 1930 and 1934. Vidrio marketed a number of household items in the early 1930s featuring slag glass elements supplied by the Houze Glass Co., including nightlights, lighters, lamps, ashtrays, mixers, and perfumators. This clock has an octagonal “custard” colored slag glass case with “caramel” marbling. The dial is marked “Electric Time,” and there’s a small window below the 12 through which a rotating flywheel can be seen when clock is running. Typical of clocks of this era, it has a spin-to-start movement, meaning you have to spin a knob on the back to get it going. It measures 3 3/4" tall x 3.3/4” wide x 2 3/4" deep.
