Got an old Nutcracker, made of some sort of metal. The device winds down towards the bottom(see pictures 2-1) to crack the nut, providing a small pocket for the material to break into. The initials on the back read "HMQ" which is you search google images will show the popular nutcracker model we've all seen before.

EDIT-Thank you to Pop-abides, all the following information is credit to him

"This is a vintage nickel plated nutcracker or nut cracker in the Ideal style made by H. M. Quackenbush, USA in the 1930s. The design was actually patented by Quackenbush in 1915 but this is the 1930s version with the straight bar handle. The nutcracker measures 6 inches long if the handle is fully extended and the oval nut cup measures 3.5 inches high by 2 inches wide. The H M Quackenbush logo is i=on the back and the nutcracker is in excellent condition..."

      According to this site:>http://www.artfire.com

The H M Quackenbush logo is i=on the back and the nutcracker is in excellent condition and still works extremely well, accomodating all sizes of nuts. Cool!

So it's really HMQ on the back..........
