This item was with a bunch of stuff we came across (we're pickers too) that came from Alaska. I have a friend that used to live there, he said he thinks it's an artifact. We've researched it some, and it was made by Eskimos but could be modern, they make them to sell to tourists, but they also made them a long time ago. It's made of real skin and the fur on it is real but I'm not sure what animal it's from. I want to say seal skin. There is a safety pin on the back, could have been added at any time, it was on it when we got it.

The pendant was also with the stuff from Alaska. It's some kind of beetle and the outside of it is silver, it's marked 925.

An added note, there was lots of stuff in this stuff we found. There was some gold jewelry which was genuine, we made a good profit on this pick.

I know this sounds weird, but the beetle, if you look really close, looks like there is some gold on it, like on it's feet. I don't know if it's special but it is in sterling silver.
