It's kinda sad that today, in the name of safety, little boys (and girls) have to play with wimpy blow-molded plastic tools, instead of the small but 'real' toys of previous generations! This tool set belonged to my husband as a small boy. He told me about the wonderful projects he made with his set. I imagine it dates from the mid to late 50s, but the set does look a bit older than that. All of the tools he has left are in the box. Perhaps one of our grandsons might enjoy it someday!

That's so sweet! Glad to hear your story. I wonder how many little boys are gaining a love of building from "Bob the Builder".

You're sooo right Stef! Glad I didn't grow up under these rigid and totally ridiculous laws. I had one too although not this exact same one. My father was a home builder and I wanted to be just like him. Except somehow, along the way, I became a singer,,,LOL This is a great antique toy piece!
