This basket is about 6" wide and about 4" tall. This basket looks very old and it very fragile. I was wondering if anyone knew where this basket came from and about how much it is worth. I think it could be a great piece but I am not sure and I was looking for confirmation. Please post your comments and share any info you might know about this piece. I inherited this basket, along with all of my other posts, from my father's estate. I am trying to educate myself, with the help of others, on these baskets and learn what it was my father was so passionate about. Thanks a bunch!

This was made by either the Makah or Nootka Tribe, I would have to see the bottom to be sure. Made of Bear Grass and Cedar (on the bottom, usually in strips criss-crossed). This one looks to be very well made with tiny stitches and the larger size is a plus! I have one of my many Makah/Nootka baskets on my page and I have them from larger than yours to one that is two inches in diameter.
