My stepfather retired from Borden's years ago. "he is 85 years young." This has been hanging in his gargage for many years, well I was the lucky one to receive his clock. Still keeps time and lights up. Does anyone know the approximate age? I can't find another one like it. Thanks for the help.

Neat clock ! That us strange my Step dad also worked for Bordens , he has passed but would be about 80 now . Thanks for sharing great old Elsie :-) I think I might have some of his old pins from company I have to look . Not sure on dating your clock but we have some good clock people on CW so hopefully the can put it in a time frame for you .

I see a lot of these advertising clocks online but none with Elsie the Cow shaded in blue like this. They all have the "Borden's Fine Dairy Products" in big red splash letting over the top half of the dial too. Your stepfather may have repaired, or altered this clock in some way. If you can't find a match, and I'm sure you've tried, your best bet may be to look for markings/stamps on the movement. Dates of manufacture or patent numbers/dates can often be found on the movement. This could help you pin the date down to a decade or two.
There are also some very knowledgeable advertising, and electric clock collectors around here so perhaps they can help. Thanks for sharing this and good luck finding out more!

This is a classic Dualite clock, made between the 1950s and the 1960s. A great gift! Be sure you always run the clock with lower wattage bulbs like a 7watt.
