    These are love notes from my grandmother to my grandfather, when they were courting. Dating from 1937-39, he was in the CCCs. Many are postmarked Bloodland, MO, which was taken over by Ft. Leonard Wood and no longer exists. Many of my family was displaced by the Fort. My grandfather went through my grandmother's belongings when she died, and burned his letters to her. One can only imagine what was in them LOL

      Wow...I wish I had asked my grandpa about it. I have a letter from him where a sickness fell on the camp where he was...think it was Scarlet Fever. He apologized profusely to my Nanny for not coming and seeing her, but he was in charge of the hospital. Fascinating letter.
