This poster by Stanley Mouse, with a photograph of Big Brother's lead guitarist, James Gurley, at its center, is one of the most famous images from the late-60s San Francisco rock scene. Bob Seidemann took the photo for this show (FD-48) featuring the Avalon's de-facto house band, Big Brother and the Holding Company. On this occasion, Quicksilver Messenger Service was second bill and Oxford Circle opened.

Love Quicksilver. The live version of "Who Do You Love", from the LP "Happy Trails" was a masterpiece, which was recorded at the Fillmore in 1968. I had the opportunity to see them perform in 1969.
Great poster, and thanks for the memories.
