I'm trying to find out the value of this clock. It was brought to the US in 1932, when my great Aunt and Uncle immigrated from Germany. It is in perfect operating condition, I just had it professionaly cleaned and serviced. I'd like to find out who made it in Germany. It is about 14" high. It is an 8 day clock. An Aunt of mine thought when my other Aunt and Uncle brought it over from Germany in 1932, that at that time it was very old, she thought it was made, pre WW1.

Nice clock. I think Toolate2 is the collector around here who is Cuckoo for Cuckoo clocks! :) I'm sure he'll be able to help you or direct you to a good resource.

I wonder if the parts have any value? I have one that hasn't said a word in 30 years.

I don't know anything about value on clocks i just know what they want for them in flea markets and antique malls. and to Fhrjr2 your clock might just need a cleaning and oil and maybe new bellows. i have 15 that call out the hour / half hour and play a little tune afterwards. maybe toolate2 can give you some advice also.

Looks to be a 1 day clock. Is there a name anywhere on the movement? I'm no cuckoo expert but as they say... It takes one to know one...lol... I do have several and I enjoy them. I don't think this one is anything special...Beyond the family connection that is. Hang it, keep it wound, and enjoy it's giving you the bird everyday! Thanks for sharing!!!

You may find a date and manufacturer's name or mark stamped on the movement. It might not necessarily be the manufacturer of the clock itself. That is a very interesting hook holding the bird finial in place. The post-war clocks normally have spring clips securing the finial.

I have one clock the same as yours, how much does the weight of the pines ?
