Green is usually the cheapest bakelite or lucite but when your favorite color is green - like mine!! - then you buy 'em and you're sure to wear 'em anyway and everyone asks you where you got 'em and wants them! I made the charm bracelet from my stash of old green buttons. (solder those links - I've been at the club under a table when I thought I heard something fall.) Also in picture a great 2-tone hat pin, 2 lovely carved clips that I found in Silver City for $20!
I like to wear my greens w/my 1950's fitted grey jacket - and of course on my denim jacket and yes w/my black dress and chunky black platforms...
I love seeing so much Bakelite all in one place! Looks great!
By the way thank you ALL: vetraio, pencap, amber, vintageStation, vintagemad and moonstone for your love of the Plastic Fantastic!
When I noticed the bracelets with the flat sides I realized I have more of these type of bracelets I could have sent you with the others.
Thank you Ken. Thanks my dear friend Aim for your nice comment. I just found 2 more Lucite bangles and plan to post w/the ones you sent since they all go well together.
Thank you CW friends for stopping by with love: Woman34, Nadia, Betty, Ken & Aim!
Juicy! ;)
Thank you Betty! they are juicy!
Beeeeautiful!
Thanks Gillian for visiting the St. Patty's Day Green!!!
Oh I am so glad Gillian revived this post. These are fab fab fab!
Thanks Karen - I plan to reshoot and redo this post. So nice of you to comment on this old greenery....:-)
Still drooling - still green.
Thanks Gillian - I have a story about the wide "end of day" spinach bangle 5th from bottom. I wrapped it up for a rockabilly girlfriend's birthday. When I greeted her at the restaurant table with "you will like my present" she bolted up and pushed thru the diners to get to the gift table, opened it in front of everyone and put it on right there. I love it when the present is exactly right and it went to the right new owner.
Green is my favorite as well. A friend turned me on to Bakelite some years back an I have been collecting ever since. It’s addicting! A nice collection.
Congrats.
Hi Broochman and thx! I will post the ones separately that I haven't already.
Thanks also Anile, look forward to seeing your collection too. I really enjoy the old plastics!
Wow, it's like a Bakelite store!
I'll have one of each please...
The Marbled ( givre) bracelets are to die for...
Mary, You are the "Plastic Fantastic Lover"!!!
Eileen, no I only have a modest collection. They look impressive posted together LOL. The marbled are very nice I agree. My favorite story of giving the right gift: My rockabilly friend's birthday party. As we kissed hello I said "you might want to look at my present over there on the table". She immediately did so, and loved it and put the wide bracelet (4th down). It didn't even match her outfit. Pretty great to give a gift that is right.
Green is sooo wonderful! What a fantastic post. Would love to see your stach in real life sometime and to see YOU again!
Thank you Elisabeth - I am a big fan of green as you know! Yes, we will meet again and hopefully look at our treasures together.
Thanks for all the loves friends!
