I was hoping someone would know what this patch is. Not sure if its a military patch or was a boy scout patch or what. I'm not even sure if it is vintage. It was found with a bunch of older pins in a box inside a wall. If u recognize it please share.
It is an Honorable Discharge emblem and was commonly worn on the uniforms of recently discharged soldiers in WW2.
Known by service members as the "Ruptured Duck".

It's a WWII era honorably discharged patch, nicknamed "the ruptured duck." Soldiers returning from WWII wore it on their uniforms. Since it has a white background, I think it may be made for a white Navy uniform, but I'll leave that part of the identification to one of the Navy folks here.

just to add a little. These were worn on their uniforms above the right breast pocket after they were discharged and wearing the uniform home(up to 30 days) due to clothing shortages,this would tell the mp's and sp's, those persons were not awol.
