Philip Baldwin and Monica Guggisberg, 70 cm high ,15 cm diameter total including metal base 185 cm, 1997 Blown glass, wheel cut, kiln formed, hand finished . this object is from there guardian" and "courtesan serie. This is a guardian the courtesans had a knob on top.
Blown and Cut Glass on Stainless Steel Stand . red core covered with clear and a layer of blue the blue is then cut away .the pattern reminded me of lino cuttings and printing we did at school when i was 8 or 9.
Its a great sight when you see 10/15 of them together in different heights colors and cutting patterns .
They started together at orrefors 79/80 then became assistants to Wilke Adolfsson and Ann Wolff in Zweden. Started there own glass studio in Switzerland in 1982 They specialice in various cutting techniques.
