These figurines were found packed away in a box. Although the images are Dutch I sure would like some help determining when and where they may have been made and what can be done to stop the deterioration of the finish; if anything. They are solid figures (no holes in the bottom), and each is pretty heavy for its size. Someone, in the past, put felt on the bases and it's beginning to pull off the young man. I looked but I can't find a mark of any kind. Although the two figures have seen better days the wonderful attention to detail (take a look at the pipe in the young man's hand and the bow on the back of the milkmaid's dress) is still so evident it would be a shame to see them deteriorate any further. Any tips for conserving them, and help with their identity, would be greatly appreciated.

As additional information, the "yokes" on each of the figures contain a metal armature that is probably made of lead wire, (it's grey colored). In addition, I have removed the felt from the bottom of the figure of the young man and noticed that there is no mark of any kind. The colors blue, yellow, brown/beige and green appear ot be underglaze while the gilt and red appear to be overglaze.
