My favorite Big eyed artist is E. Roth, I not only got one,but two on my hunts. It is said that Roth a french artist caught a glimpse of this young girl in the late fifties and she obviously had one heck of an impact on his art. You can almost see her in later pictures aging with him. How beautiful is that?I wonder who she is ? michellerdubois

Kato, Yes it is a thick lithograph and the eyes are probably a reflection of a lost love from the artist Roth. I can only guess from what I have read. I am sorry it makes you sad to view this. They call this kitsch art, objects, or design considered to be in poor taste because of excessive garishness or sentimentality, but sometimes appreciated in an ironic or knowing way. There has been an increase in sales on this "Big Eyed" art because of the Walter and Margaret Keene outing of the original creator. But over all I love the Roth's and am so much more intrigued by his story of love lost.Art should move us with no sorrow we would never experience pleasure. Just a thought, Michelle DuBois
